CFI Bootcamp's Power Hour Lessons #300 | What's Making This One Different

Nicholas Horn

Most webinars die around episode twelve. Somebody's excited, they do a few, attendance dips, and by episode fifteen it's "on hiatus" — which in webinar years means dead, the same way a flight school's "seasonal maintenance closure" means the owner ran out of money in February.

CFI Bootcamp's cfi Power Hour Lessons didn't do that. It's been showing up, live, every Saturday, long enough that we're now closing in on the 300th episode. Ten thousand-plus attendees. Somewhere north of a hundred exclusive offers handed out along the way. A community that, according to one CFI who's been in the room for two years straight, hasn't missed a Saturday since he found us.

That's not a stat we're bragging about for the sake of bragging. It's the whole argument for why this show is worth an hour of your Saturday in the first place — and it's why #300 is going to look different from the 299 that came before it.

Consistency Is the Whole Point, Not a Nice-To-Have

Here's the uncomfortable part for anyone who's tried to build a study habit alone: showing up once is easy. Showing up the next time, and the time after that, when nobody's checking, is where every self-directed CFI prep plan quietly goes to die.

CFI Bootcamp's Power Hour Lessons works because it removes the "will I actually do this today" decision entirely. Register once, and you're locked in for every future session — the portal link lands in your inbox weekly whether you remember to look for it or not. Every Saturday at 12pm ET, hour one is a focused Structured Training Topic with Wings credit attached. Hour two is open mic, which is a polite way of saying you ask, we answer, on the record, in front of the room.

Nearly 300 weeks of that adds up to something a solo study guide can't replicate: a room full of people who showed up on purpose, week after week, because the material was actually worth their time.

A Quick Look Back at What We've Covered

Talk is cheap. Here's six recent Saturdays, back to back, as proof this isn't filler content stretched to fill an hour:

  • Flight Simulators for Currency and Proficiency — what actually counts toward currency, and what's just expensive practice.

  • Building a Personal Brand as a CFI — why "aviation educator" in your bio isn't a personal brand.

  • Understanding ATC Workload — reading the frequency instead of just listening to it.

  • Managing Test Anxiety | How to Perform Your Best — the difference between nervous and unprepared.

  • Engine and Systems Monitoring — catching the problem before it becomes the emergency.

  • Passenger Briefings - Flying With Passengers — the briefing nobody delivers the same way twice, and why that's a problem.

That's six weeks. The full archive runs back through every Structured Training Topic we've ever covered — browse it at cfibootcamp.com/power-hour-lessons.

What #300 Adds to the Format

We're not changing what works. Hour one stays a real Structured Training Topic. Hour two stays open mic. But for a milestone episode, we're stacking a third layer on top — and we're not giving away all of it here.

Expect exclusive offers you won't see posted anywhere outside the live room. Expect giveaways that go to people who are actually in the session, not people who saw a recap later. And after the first hour wraps, stick around, because we're closing out episode #300 with a live gameshow built entirely out of the kind of questions a DPE actually asks — which means it doubles as prep, whether you're there for the prizes or not.

That's the honest pitch: it's still a training session. It's just also the one where showing up gets you something extra for having shown up.

The Room That Actually Built This

Three hundred episodes doesn't happen because one person shows up with slides. It happens because the same faces kept logging in every Saturday — some of you since before you'd even scheduled a checkride, a lot of you long after you'd passed and just never left. That's not something a webinar platform can manufacture. That's a community that decided a Saturday afternoon was worth protecting.

It also doesn't happen without the team working the other side of the screen — queuing topics, answering "is this the right link" in the chat for the two-hundredth time, and making sure the portal email actually goes out before noon on Saturday instead of at 11:58.

So before we get to the milestone itself: thank you. To the instructors who keep coming back. To the candidates who found us mid-checkride-prep and stayed for the community after they passed. To the team that's kept this running, on time, every single week, without ever once making it look like the grind it actually is. Episode 300 is yours as much as it is ours.

Save Your Seat for #300

  • Hour one: a Structured Training Topic (Wings credit available)

  • Hour two: open mic — ask anything, live

  • Milestone bonus for #300: exclusive offers, giveaways, and a live gameshow after hour one
